(The pace wasn't helped by the fact that the licence renewal papers for the church car had not arrived and we had to make special arrangements to get it done in time so that Glen doesn't get ticketed!)
By lunch time we were ready and packed the bicycles. This too was complicated by the fact that the bike repairs after Theo's crash had been delayed by a non-delivery of parts and so we had to take a spare bike with in case we ran into trouble. (Fortunately we didn't have any trouble and so the spare bike got to be carried all around Mpumalanga without ever being ridden!)
We drove thru Witbank and Middleburg and Belfast, stopping briefly for Theo to show everyone the three crosses he and Craig found at the end of the Pedal Project Theo did just less than two years ago - it was an amazing feeling for Theo to see the place again!
Just after Belfast we decided to ride. It was freezing and windy, but we were keen. It 
turned out to be a great cycle (just under 50kms, mainly down hill with one steep climb past the toll gates) we'll come back sometime to ride the full 100km from Belfast to Nelspruit! Theo managed the cycling ok - the arm was a bit sore from the vibrations, but the ankle was fine with the up-down motion of the pedalling, but he can hardly walk in the cycling shoes!
While we cycled, Caleb and the ladies shopped at Milly's (which is an awesome "Home Industry" at one of the Ultra Cities near Machadodorp and stocks a lot of trout related stuff) and got some delicious trout pies which were devoured at supper time...
We stayed the night at the Black Eagle Retreat which are wooden chalets near a lovely country pub and lake. We stayed in Heron cottage which was very cute, although a little crowded for 5 people and 3 bicycles!
