Sunday Service and a Long Walk!

Today was another great day in Ramsgate. We headed off to the Baptist Church where we enjoyed a lovely service with a warm and vibrant congregation. The worship was led by a group of singers, one guitar and a drummer but was very effective. Both musicians looked to be in their 70s but played exceptionally well.

After church Brenda and the boys went to the new Whale-watching deck at Ramsgate and listened to a fascinating talk on whales and the sardine run. (The sardine run had gone through Port Edward and was moving up the coast toward us - as it turned out, we never got to see it...)

After a hot-dog lunch done by Kathryn and George, the boys (Theo, George, Caleb and Brendon) headed off on an epic walk - destination San Lameer just off Marina Beach. Theo had scouted it out on Google Earth and it measured about 6km and looked doable.

We got going half an hour later than we initially thought and the rocky bits were a bit harder than we anticipated, but Brendon and Caleb walked like stars and we covered the distance in about an hour and a quarter. Although we had to walk quite rapidly, we enjoyed really beautiful scenery and stunning weather.

Brenda in the meantime headed off to San Lameer where she met up with Amy and Boris who had invited us for tea. They are a lovely family from our Grace congregation. They picked us up from the beach and Amy, Boris, Leo and Ashleigh spoilt us with a wonderful tea and eats.

After a wonderful afternoon we headed home as Theo had promised to help braai the boerewors for the team supper.
