| View from our fifth cache |
|
We slept well in the Southernmost campsite in Africa and decided to go for a ride... Twelve years ago George and I rode from Bredasdorp to L'Agulhas and absolutely loved the last seven kms which took us right along the coast from Struisbaai to Agulhas....

Now we got to ride that beautiful piece of road twice. We did 20kms inland and then 20kms back and it all went OK. (The wind didn't blow as much as it did last time!!!)

Then we packed up camp and did our daily five caches on the way to Kleinmond. There were four in Agulhas and one in Hermanus. We did one at the lighthouse and then one at a site of an old shipwreck. Then we did a very old cache which used to be the Southernmost and was planted way back in 2001.

Last night we discovered that a TravelBug that Theo decided to take out of the south-most cache yesterday is actually called Theo-catra and is a cute tiger-teddy, who will now travel with us for some of our adventures... 'til he can meet Cabey in Pta...

The last cache we did in Agulhas was on a little hiking trail that takes you up on a hill overlooking the whole area and the cache is deep in a cave on the limestoney cliffs - it was very cool indeed.

Then we drove off toward Palmiet campsite in Kleinmond which is an old favourite campsite for us and on the way we did a cache at a whale watching spot in Hermanus which was really nice.

After buying the essentials for supper, we clocked in at the campsite and headed for the beach where we both decided to be good out-of-towners and swim! It was brisk, but nice!
Then we set up camp and braaied supper and settled in for the evening.
