Today was an awesome day! We were in the pool at 7am! Apparently this is the purest water you can get. It is renowned for its healing properties and so even Theo swam and then we were joined by the Mommy!
After a delicious breakfast of Ceres fruit we headed for Cape Town as it was a clear sunny day. We stopped to look at a cute wedding chapel at DuToit's kloof and saw a baboon steal a packet of Simba chips from a delivery truck and then sit nearby and open it and munch away. The delivery guys were very irritated!
It was quite incredible drive - we went along the old road through the Slanghoekberge, Wemmershoekberge and DuToitsberge. We stopped at the DuToitskloof tunnel which is shorter than the N1 tunnel, but has a lovely story about it being haunted. There
was a geocache on top of the tunnel and so we enjoyed a lovely scramble to the top.At the top of the pass we stopped for a view, which allowed us to look over Paarl and its "Pearls" to Cape Town and a clear view of Table Mountain, Devil's Peak and Lion's Head. AWESOME!
Then through HellsHoogtepass and thru Stellenbosch to the CableStation and up Table Mountain. Cabey was inside Brenda when we did this last time and he jumped around as much the second time! We enjoyed some incredible views from up top and enjoyed being able to see so m
any of the places we'd been to before. It was particularly great to see parts of the walk we did in the Silvermine reserve.
Afterward we drove down Kloofnek to Clifton (because Caleb knows it from his Monopoly game) and sea point. Then we went thru Clifton and Bantry Bay on the coastal road and hit CampsBay at Sunset, driving along that beautiful road to HoutBay and then to Kommetjie to the caravan park there. All in all an awesome and spectacular
day!
