Day 2 was warm and sunny

We got going early this morning and headed for Ramsgate beach, where swimming, sand-castles and canoeing were the order of the day.

The kids loved the water and the waves were really nice for them. The adults got in too, but there weren't all that many waves for Theo to body-surf in. In between we built sand-castles and little Mark even had a snooze.

We met up on the beach with the Schoemans and Louws and Matthew was really please to see Caleb. One of the real highlights of the morning was going off canoeing. Jessica took Caleb in one canoe and Brendon and Theo went in the other. On the way back Brendon tried the paddle-boat, but said he preferred the canoe.

After lunch Theo took the boys for a walk toward South Broom - it was really fun exploring and rock-hopping across one of the little bays. On the way back we stopped to get drinks at a restaurant and saw the Netherlands slot their first goal!

By the time we got back, we were able to see the Netherlands win outright and Theo measured the walking distance and discovered that he and the boys had walked nearly six kilometers!

The day was rounded off with watching some of the 8h30 game before the boys faded. (Just as well with the sad elimination of Ghana)
