Argus Adventure! Tuesday

We woke up early in the Forever Resorts Caravan Park in Gariep having slept quite well. We had breakfast and although the wind was still blowing very strongly, we decided to go and ride.

We rode 25km towards Betulie and then turned around and rode back to the Dam. The riding went well and Theo felt good in spite of still being on antibiotics for the upper respiratory tract infection he has been battling with.
When we got back to Gariep we rode out onto the dam wall and had our energy bars and juice on the dam wall whilst overlooking the enormous and beautifully blue Gariep which is 99% full!

After that we went back to the camp site, had a shower and packed up the tent and packed the car. We got this all done in less than an hour and then went and found a cache which was less than 300m from our tent!
We found five caches today in four provinces:

  1. Another view of the wall
  2. Both sides now
  3. Norvalspont Concentration Camp
  4. Colesburg
  5. Three Sisters Padstal
The drive to Beaufort West was long, full of roadworks and very very very hot, but we eventually arrived, bought supplies and clocked in at the Karoo National Park which is really lovely. We got camp set up very quickly and had a good supper, braaing some wors and lamb kebabs.

Tomorrow is the big pull down to Cape Agulhas!
